On completion of all aspects of this learning programme you should be able to:
- to identify the underlying risk factors and triggers for acute kidney injury
- to understand the importance of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and explain medicines optimisation as a strategy for the prevention and management of acute kidney injury
- to describe the role of the pharmacy team in acute kidney injury prevention and management, including the use of sick day rules
- to discuss local initiatives for AKI prevention and management
- make a pledge to implement one change in your practice and set yourself a deadline for this, to put AKI theory into practice.
