How to get access to the DCR

If you would like to have access to the DCR for your pharmacy, there are some next steps to take:

The DCR admin team require your pharmacy to firstly register with the Dorset Information Sharing Charter (DiSC). The DiSC provides a robust support framework for sharing information and working in partnership across public, private and voluntary sector organisations in Dorset.  More information about the DiSC and how to sign up can be found About the Dorset Information Sharing Charter (DiSC) – Dorset Council.

After registering on the DiSC you will need to request access to DCR.

To set up your initial access to DCR, the following information needs to be sent to the dcrsystemadmin@dorsetcc.gov.uk:

  • Name of Senior Pharmacist/Lead Pharmacist on site
  • Contact details of the Senior Pharmacist/Lead Pharmacist on site
  • IP address for the N3/HSCN connection (you may need to speak to your IT provider)
  • Sign up to the DiSC is required. The sign-up form is available HERE

The Dorset Care Record team can give you access to their test system which you might find beneficial to see how the DCR works. They can provide you with the relevant information including test patients and some instructions. If you would like further details please email Georgina Hulbert, georgina.hulbert@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
