Health Worker Testing – Primary Care

From the Sunday 26th April Dorset will have a fully operational Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) key worker testing facility at Creekmoor Park and Ride (Poole), which is open seven days a week.

At the request of the NHS England South West team we have established a Dorset Local Co-ordination Centre (LCC) to receive all testing nominations from key worker organisations in Dorset (this includes high priority key workers who are symptomatic and symptomatic members of a household that are resulting in an asymptomatic key worker having to self-isolate). Information on how to get NHS employees a test for COVID-19.

Booking is a very simple process – step by step instructions are HERE – which involves you completing a spreadsheet and sending it to a general email address, every day should you need it.

You will have seen on the news the announcement nationally of access to testing for all key workers. We would ask you to use the Dorset LCC to nominate individuals for testing as there are many benefits. Staff who are booked through our system are currently contacted by one of the NHS England team so that that eligibility for testing is checked – it’s really important the right people are tested at the right time. You will also have good oversight of who you have sent for testing.

Also attached HERE are some frequently asked questions which you might find helpful in communicating with your teams.

If you would like to access this capacity please complete and forward the attached spreadsheet HERE by 9am tomorrow, Saturday 25th.

Thank you for all you are doing to support staff, patients and residents during this difficult time. We hope this facility enables you to get as many individual back to where they want to be – the front line.
